"Vertical World did a fantastic job planning and installing a climbing wall
on the side of our house. When we first had this idea, we thought it would
be a difficult process, involving demolition and lots of construction, but
the pre-made panels from Vertical World made it easy and manageable. They
built framing and put the panels right over our existing siding. In
addition, they helped our two sons plan routes and then installed holds on
the wall. The wall looks terrific and is tons of fun. From start to
finish they made the project easy and manageable."

"I recently moved to Maine after having lived in Seattle for 21 years. One of my fondest memories is climbing at the Vertical Club on those wet winter nights, first at the Elliot Street gym, then in Fremont and eventually at the Fisherman's Terminal gym. It was always a pleasure meeting up with friends and pulling down hard for an evening. Although Bar Harbor has superb outdoor climbing in the spring, summer and fall, the winters in Maine are long and cold and there aren't any climbing gyms. After my first winter here I was having serious withdrawal symptoms and longing for some indoor climbing. Over many years of climbing at various gyms I found the hand-textured walls at the Vertical Club to be the best and decided to call and ask if they would send me a care-package of panels that I could use to make a home wall. I found the folks at the Vertical Club as enthusiastic as me in wanting to make it happen.
"Amy and the staff at the Vertical Club were exceptionally helpful and fun to work with. In addition to a pallet of standard 4 x 4 panels, the staff created a few specially textured panels without T-nuts that I used to create a straight-in killer hand crack, a testy finger crack, and a corner with an off-width that narrows at the top to tips. I love stemming the corner, stretching my hamstrings and back, and sinking a solid jam.
"The textured panels are great for my footwork and bring back fond memories of many years of climbing at the Vertical Club. The panels were easy to install, the T-nuts are solid and the texture is user friendly and extremely durable.
"One of the nice surprises of having a home wall is the fun and satisfaction of setting my own routes. A single route might take a whole evening to set, repeatedly tweaking the positions of the holds. Setting and working a single route is a workout in itself and can be both physically exhausting and creative.
"Having a home climbing wall is a good way to hang with friends, especially in a place like Bar Harbor, Maine where the winter nights are long.
